ok, it all makes sense now. I am working on another article that explains REFERENCES, ON DELETE CASCADE, ON UPDATE, FOREIGN KEY and how they work with some examples. After that I'll take a stab at creating an attendance program with columns: name, rank, attendance, award, note, day, and event. Basically, it will be a clone of an attendance program that I created for a friend, but should be far less complicated and easier to manage.
