About Animeviews

Date Written: 4/4/07 Last Updated: 8/9/10

I started this site on It was started on May 17, 2005 with no real reason or purpose except a strong desire to work on a website.  For a long time this site had no direction that I could consciously see, and yet it progressed forward at a dedicated pace as I taught myself to code.  Now that the design aspect is largely finished I can tell you that there are three purposes.
  • First, it is an anime review site written by a reformed presbyterian Christian who wants to keep things fairly clean.  I want to review anime and manga that I have enjoyed, but I am not averse to publishing reviews that others have written and submitted to me.  Not that I am likely to get too many if any submissions

  • Second, it is also a place for me to write a few website design articles on topics that I have found diffcult to learn about or find information about.

  • Third, it is a place for me to keep some notes on things like news I am currently watching or theology or school stuff.
Subconsciously there are a few other things I would like to work on.  One is to make the layout easy to manipulate and change so that when the need arises to move to a different layout it will not be too difficult or painful.  I also want to move away from the cjg–ExplorerPro.  I don't really know why though, because it works great.  I know why.  It is because it is a dead program that, while useful, has been abandoned by its author.  It also is not cross browser compatible.

Currently, this site is having the reviews rewritten to reflect a new basic standard for the style of reviews.  I don't have any new design projects for this site like a search feature or converting the main page to a CSS tableless design.  The ideas I do have are on the back burner of my mind to become more concrete or just evaporate away, but none seem all that pressing right now.

There are still a few larger bugs and countless smaller bugs that need to be fixed yet.

To Do List

my old xanga page created a few hours before my first website purchase.

Version 1 The way the site used to look when it was about two months old.  It has improved a lot since then

Version 2 This is a snapshot of the revamped version of this site.  Between this version and the one above there was mostly construction.  I rather like how the site looks at present, so I am calling this design version 2.
