ok, the news section now uses normalized tables. I have disabled the prev and next buttons for the browsing of news sections till I can figure something out. I expect that this will be down for some time and maybe permanently. It was very poorly written code that worked and no longer will with the new table set up. Setting the number of misc results in the main news page now works. I was not even aware that it was broken till I started going through the code.
The only thing left to do is to create the edit buttons for the names of the categories for the news section.
