I am noticing that many of my fellow students are having a bit of trouble starting their own practice with many having trouble finding work or changing jobs frequently. I have about 1–2 years before I graduate. I want to be as successful as possible, so starting now I am going to try and research exactly what my options are and how I can be careful and skilled at making wise career decisions.

Remember to try and get a lawyer before you sign anything. If you are buying a practice you will want to be sure there is a no competition clause listed.
Practice styles:
- Buy out a practice from a retiring or leaving chiropractor.
- Start a solo practice.
- Associate.
- Work in a business like a hospital or be a sports chiropractor.
I am not sure what I will do, but ideally I would like to have a solo practice, but that might not happen right away, but even so, I should try to get to that place in life as soon as possible.
Clubs
Clubs look like they will offer a great opportunity to get well connected and well trained at the least and quite possibly will help to make for a very successful practice. There are many clubs here on the Palmer campus, but they seem to largely meet at the same time, so going to multiple clubs is often not possible. I will try to visit several clubs and post my experiences here.
Week 1: Motion Palpation
I spent my first week at a club called motion palpation where the main purpose was to work on palpation skills and to learn some new tricks. It was a rather good class in that I need to work on my palpation skills. Finding subluxations is very difficult for me at present, so I may go back till I can get more comfortable with it. There were about 15 people there, which was good and they were from many different trimesters, but most were within a trimester of me.
