This is really a work in progress, but I have started work on creating documents that summarize various news stories.  They are designed to compile the history of a news story as well as explaining the significance, implications, and relevance to other news stories.

The part I am working on right now is how these documents should be stored.  As a news item or article or both or something else?  For now they are listed as articles only, but I do not like this idea, nor do I like the idea of storing them with the other news items or as its own area.  

I could store them as news articles and when the categories for the news items are listed the news articles would be pulled as well.

One other idea is to create a reference page for the news items.  This idea certainly has its merits and would be easy to implement.

The second idea just seems better and makes more sense to me.  I don't like the idea of mixing news items and news story documents.
