Opera 31 came out today.  Opera Discover was redesigned to be more useful and no longer looks so much like a spam site .  Synchronization now includes typed history.  Opera also loads much faster now.

For many people the speed dial entries will seem somewhat new and different.  Using the heart icon that is located just to the right of the address bar you can now set the thumbnail for the speed dial thumbnail.  Using the arrows you can cycle through as few as 2 or as many as 15 different images to use for the thumbnail including a snapshot of the page itself.  The images can be clipped somewhat.  In Opera developer you can use the heart icon to move the image, zoom in or out, and have greater control over where the bookmark will be stored such as a sub-folder within your speed dial entries.

One bug I did see was that the thumbnail image that you select for a speed dial entry might not be saved.  The easiest way I have seen to fix this is to delete the buggy speed dial entry and re-add it.  So far that works every time.
