I have to abandon the upstairs bathroom ceiling heater-fan.  Near as I can tell, it was unplugged on purpose because it is indeed broken.  I now know how to take it apart.  I checked the wires and there is power going through the wires when it is turned on, but it just won't run.  The ceiling light, however, does work.

At least now I know.  If I do decided to replace it in the future, I can do that, but it is not important to look into it any further.

My projects for this Fall and Winter include getting the tree removed, getting the brush removed, both of which I hope to have done by the tree people, and work on the basement.  As far as home improvement projects go, those are the projects you will hear about the most for the rest of this season and the next.  After that will be some of the bigger purchases on the home improvement list.
