5/08/25: received the number of my realtor
8/22/25: closed on the purchase of my first house

Today is nearly three months since moving in and, come to think of it, today is the 6 month anniversary since that day I first contacted my realtor about buying a house!  Getting the financing for the house and finding the house were providential as was God's work preparing me and equipping me for the moment I would buy the house.

The efforts I have made to make this house my own and to repair it have been a joy and it really feels like and probably is an extension/entrance into heaven.  This feels like my forever home.

I really love exploring it and it feels like an expedition type of adventure.  I can explore the basement by cleaning it or work on woodworking or metal working hobbies or put cement or carpet down.  I can mess with the heating or plumbing or possibly wiring.  There are so many things I could do and that's just the basement!

On the main floor I can add furniture or work on cooking hobbies or play video games or watch movies.  I can add a gas line to create a gas hearth

Upstairs are three bedrooms.  I'm still not quite sure what I will do with the two unused bedrooms, but I'm enjoying the work that I do on them.  I am considering turning one of them into a reading room or something similar.

What I am most excited about is doing more work with cement, etc. to insulate the basement for the next 5 months.
