I was testing out the new alpha version of Opera.  I normally don't like to test alpha versions, but in this case I was very tempted.

After looking it over and going to my Tweaks:Opera page to learn again how to migrate my Opera settings and playing around with the new Opera I decided that I will keep using the old version of Opera for a bit yet.

Don't get me wrong!  The new version of Opera is great!  It runs very smoothly and has great support for CSS.  Possibly more so than any other browser out there.  A lot of features are very different.  It is not that this new version of Opera is improved so much as it is different and in many ways.

Just about everything behaves differently.  The keyboard shortcuts are different, the scrollers on the side of the page are different (they look blue now), even the way tab cycling is different.  Mostly it just takes some getting used to.  In other words the verdict is still out on all of the changes that have been made.

The improvements are there and too numerous to even begin.  It is like seeing 30 changelogs all at once or 5 years worth of changes.  There are very many.

The bugs are what caused me to go back to the older version of Opera for now.  The bugs are numerous as well.  Going back a page will cause the text to look funny, speed dial is buggy and the snapshots often do not seem to show up right.  The text will sometimes not wrap.  Migrating feeds is not working out so well.  Opera still crashes a little more than it should.  Highlighted text sometimes stays highlighted.  Kind of annoying after a bit.  

These are all bugs though and will likely be taken care of in future builds.

Gonna go back to my apartment now and get some sleep.
