Small update, but the link for Custom Scrollbars has been updated as the Opera version 4.2.1 was out of date and no longer working.

Texas Border Wall – Under Trump (2025 – )

  • 5/29/26: 5th Circuit Court of Appeals lifts the injunction against Texas' SB4.  The law has been and is in effect while the case plays out in the courts.  case name: LML v. Martin

US/Mexico Border Wall Progress

3.4 miles added since the previous update.

733.9 miles completed
1,407 miles planned
673.1 miles remain to be built

Comment: Nice increase in the amount of miles under construction this week.  There have been huge improvements in this section just this past year (62.4 in 2026 so far).  This is halfway through Trump's second term and it wasn't till the end of Trump's third year of his first term that construction ramped up.  This shows that real border wall construction has significantly sped up compared to this point in Trump's first term.  Border security overall is vastly superior to Trump's first term as well.

US/Mexico Border Wall Progress

1.8 miles added since the previous update.

730.5 miles completed
1591 miles planned
860.5 miles remain to be built*

Interesting update this time around.

  • The decrease in the number of miles completed is probably due to the holiday weekend
  • Number of miles of border wall to be built has changed this week from 1,419 to 1591; an increase of 172 miles
  • Vehicle Barrier System has been added to the End State which previously only included the Primary Border Wall
  • Planned (not yet awarded) section has been removed.  It was no longer needed as it was at 0

Still, some numbers have shifted since the last update so that the total number of miles of Primary and Replacement border wall has changed/decreased from 1,419 to 1,407.7.  The miles removed appears to have been subtracted from the Awarded (Design Phase).  Some of this may be typos in which case it will likely be corrected by the next update.  Otherwise 1,407.7 may be the new End State for Primary Border Wall.  It could also be that this was an error that has only now been corrected.  Time will tell.

*I will not be including the Vehicle Barrier or the Secondary border Wall to the US/Border wall construction status in future updates.

Yesterday, I did everything listed in the previous post.

I did a bit more work on the yard this afternoon.  Just mowing, picking up little bits of trash, some stones, two kitchen bags of stuff under the deck, gathered up another layer of charcoal from the fire pit where I found yet more broken glass and nails.

Hmm, now that I write it down, I did do a fair amount of yard work.

I hadn't thought to mention this, but it is worth mentioning.  Last night, I had a big rain storm with heavy downpour.  When that happened I was able to see a few places along the basement wall where water just poured out onto the basement floor like a faucet turned on high.  After it calmed down somewhat I sealed them up with cement, so that should help quite a bit.  I hope to do a bit more work today sealing the outside where the water could come in.
