This is a small page I created a little while back that deals with Windows XP tips.  I am not sure how long I will have XP, but I have had it for some time now and it has served me well.  I recently added a tip for how to turn off the background program searchindexer.exe.  For me search indexer used up a lot of processing resources and turning it off is somewhat tricky.  you can't turn it off by turning off the startup programs or uninstall it easily or even by manually disabling searchindexer.exe itself.  Most of the information on the web regarding how to turn this off is just wrong.  This latest tip will walk you through the steps to disable it.
