How would you define conservatism?

Conservatism is the belief in limited government, traditional values, free markets, strong national defense and individual liberty. At its core, conservatism holds that there are self-evident and timeless truths about human nature, family, faith and society. We believe in the Constitution as it was written, sanctity of life, rule of law, and defending the freedoms endowed by our Creator. Conservatives champion excellence, opportunity, ownership and personal responsibility. We honor the pillars of faith, family and community that have sustained our nation since its founding. In short, conservatism holds that our rights come from God, not government, and we must preserve the freedoms that make America exceptional.
