I have been thinking recently about AI and self-driving cars, etc. and have come to understand one big danger of this emerging technology.  Take self-driving cars.  Kids that start on these cars will not know how to drive, plain and simple.  Self-driving cars will have turned into chauffeurs.  In effect it keeps kids as kids and to a limited extent, prevents them from becoming mature adults.  With AI the danger is more pronounced as the AI will basically do the thinking for them causing them to use AI only as a tool to do something for them without ever really learning the skills needed to grow up.

I am not saying that AI is all bad.  It can be incredibly useful as a way to grow and learn new skills and mature, but you need to be intentional about how you use AI to ensure that you are using it to help you grow and not be a slave to entertainment and laziness.
