California Supreme Court hears Prop. 8 defenders

Tuesday, 9/6/11, the California Supreme Court heard arguments about whether prop.8 defenders have legal standing to defend an amendment when those in authority refuse to enforce or defend in court the law. The judges appeared sympathetic to the defenders of prop.8. If a law or amendment can be ruled null and void by those in power then those in power, such as governors and attorney generals, have far more power over the people than we thought and our laws are nothing more than a joke.
An opinion is expected within 90 days or by Monday, December 5, 2011. While the decision in this case is non–binding the Ninth Circuit said they would abide by the California Supreme Court's decision.
