ANWR bill might not be dead yet

Well, the senate passed a final version of the budget bill and it is being sent to the president for signing, but it does not include a provision allowing for oil in the ANWR. However, there is another bill going through congress at rocket speed that does allow for drilling in the ANWR. It is added to the defense spending bill and it just may pass. It passed the House this morning and it is headed to the Senate. I do not know what if any steps there are with the passage of this bill if the Senate passes this bill, but it looks like it is the last step before it heads to the president. I don't know if it is likely to be passed in the Senate either, but it passed in the house almost 3 to 1 at 308 to 106. we'll see what happens... again.
Addendum It looks like the Senate will vote on it on Monday, but they can't go home for Christmas till they vote on it. I will post any new info as it becomes available.
