The Indiana Senate decided to advance the marriage amendment bill without the second sentence Thursday 2/13/14. This means that if it passes it will have to be done so again in 2016 and will be almost meaningless.
"Only a marriage between one (1) man and one (1) woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Indiana.
"A legal status identical or substantially similar to that of marriage for unmarried individuals shall not be valid or recognized."
