Wisconsin Right To Work law upheld by Dane County judge

Dane County Circuit Judge William Foust on 3/19/15 upheld Wisconsin's right to work law also known as Act 1.

The Right to Work law prevents businesses and labor unions from entering agreements that force workers to pay union dues. A violation, by businesses or unions, would carry criminal penalties of nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine.
Before the law went into effect employees may be required to pay union dues in order to work there even if they are not in the union. This is different than Wisconsin's Act 10 in that it affects the public sector as opposed to the government unions.
Right to work laws are in effect in 25 states 8 of which are by constitutional provision.
