Wind Energy Production Outlook Uncertain for 2011

The Annual Wind Energy Market Report came out Thursday April 7, 2011 and while it appears that the wind energy market is looking good despite the significant drop in production in 2010 it would be more accurate to say that the wind energy market has become well established in recent years, but this year and next should be telling as far as whether the wind market has plateaued or not.
Wind energy looks to grow the most in India, which has been committed to exploiting its renewable resources. This is good in that any country that can diversify its energy resources can help to decrease the global demand on middle east oil. I believe the best option is still to tap our oil resources in ANWR and Texas.

The outlook for 2011 looks to be somewhere between 2010 and 2009 as there is twice as many wind energy plants in construction as there were at the start of 2010.

If I was to guess I would say that the rate of increase by the end of this year will be somewhere between 20 – 25%. We'll see.
