Sixth Circuit rules in favor of Julea Ward

A 3 judge panel on the 6th Circuit court of appeals ruled today (1/27/12) in favor of Julea Ward who was expelled from a public university for refusing to support the homosexual lifestyle and for not abandoning her faith in Christianity.
ref She was also granted by the court the right to sue her university for religious discrimination in Detroit before a federal jury.
ref The case was sent back to U.S. District Judge George Steeh in Detroit for retrial.
Notice that it took four months from the time the case was argued before the 6th Circuit for a decision to be rendered. While this case is certainly a major victory for religious freedom it is far from over. These cases take time and I expect that there are about 2 – 3 more years left before it is over. The case is already 3 years old.
