The Ugly Truth Behind the Pro-Life Movement in Congress

Posted: 7/25/19

According to Rand Paul, a Republican Senator from Kentucky, the reason pro-Life bills don't pass even when pro-life congressmen are in the majority and have enough votes to pass pro-life bills is simple and two-fold.

First, when the voters are focused on electing pro-life legislators Republicans get re-elected.  If the pro-life bills are passed, then the need to elect pro-life representatives disappears.  In other words, job security.

Second, congressmen want to spend money.  In other words, greed and power.  ref

Playing politics applies to both the Republicans and Democrats in congress.  For the Democrats, just take a look at the "outrage" over the crisis at our southern border.  Democrats have spent the last 6 months or so trying to point out the terrible humanitarian crisis at our southern border and yet go out of their way to prevent any bill from being presented for a vote or even examination.  ref
